27-28 February 2020, Nay Pyi Taw

Participants’ discussion time
This week, representatives from government and civil society organisations are meeting in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, to discuss what actions and resources are needed to operationalise Myanmar’s Safeguards Information System (SIS).
The SIS – a system for providing information on how the safeguards are being addressed and respected throughout the implementation of REDD+ activities – is a key requirement for countries implementing REDD+. Moving from an SIS design to an operational SIS necessitates the identification and mobilisation of political, financial and human resources.
Myanmar, having developed an SIS design, is now examining how to mobilise these resources through the development of an SIS operationalisation plan. Workshop participants are discussing and providing feedback on key elements of this draft plan, including how to operationalise indicators, software and hardware requirements, and capacity building needs.
The SIS operationalisation plan will be finalised after the workshop, and will guide the further establishment of Myanmar’s SIS.
Here in below is the some photos record of 1st day of the workshop.
