The 7th Technical Working Group (TWG) Meeting on Stakeholder Engagement and Safeguards for REDD+ Programme in Myanmar was held in Nay Pyi Taw today. The main objective of the meeting is to discuss and share the updated information on national REDD+ stakeholder engagement and safeguards related matter.
The Progresses of final Roadmap document and revisiting goals & scope of safeguards approach, Plans for Benefits & Risks assessment and Purpose of clarification in Myanmar were presented and discussed respectively. Then Key discussion points from the previous ministerial meetings as well as Communications and Knowledge Management Work Plan (2017-2018) of UN-REDD National programme were also shared during the meeting.
28 representatives from Government agencies of Forest Department, General Administration Department, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Rural Development, Department of Planning (MoALI), Forest Research Institute, UN-REDD Programme and CSOs such as POINT, CHRO, MERN, TNGL/KCWG and Naga CSOs were participated in the meeting.
